In His Footsteps. A 9-Day Private Christian Tour of the Holy Land

Begin your journey in Jaffa, where Simon Peter’s vision changed Christianity and Jonah’s voyage began toward Tarshish. Heading north, reach Caesarea, Herod’s grand Roman city by the sea, where Paul preached and Peter converted Cornelius. Explore its preserved walls, aqueducts, and the possible site where Paul was imprisoned. Next, ascend Mount Carmel to Muhraka, where Elijah challenged Baal’s prophets and fire descended from heaven to prove God's power. Reaching the Sea of Galilee, arrive at Magdala, the hometown of Mary Magdalene, with a first-century synagogue and unique modern chapel celebrating women. Overnight in Tiberias

Start the day at Capernaum, Jesus’ chosen home base, with remains of a large synagogue and Peter’s traditional house. Next, ascend to the top of the Mount of Beatitudes, overlooking the Sea of Galilee, where Jesus taught the multitudes. Hike down to the Church of the Primacy of Peter, where Jesus forgave Peter and told him to lead his followers with compassion. Nearby, Eeplore the Church of the Multiplication, commemorating the miraculous feeding of 5,000, with beautiful mosaic floors and tranquil gardens. At Kibbut Ginosar view the ancient Boat of Galilee, a two-thousand-year-old fishing boat preserved from the time of Jesus. Conclude the day with a peaceful sail on the Sea of Galilee, imagining the miracles that happened upon its waters. Overnight in Tiberias

Travel north to Tel Dan, where Abraham likely passed and where Jeroboam built golden calves to divert worship from Jerusalem. Walk in shaded trails to the ancient city gate and high place, surrounded by greenery and flowing water.
Continue to nearby Caesarea-Philippi, where Peter confessed, “You are the Christ,” at the foot of Mount Hermon. See pagan temple ruins and springs forming one of Jordan’s headwaters, the setting of Jesus’ question, “Who do you say I am?”. Next, Ascend up the Golan Heights and
enjoy a Druze hospitality experience with traditional dishes and stories from this unique Middle Eastern religious community. In the afternoon drive to Mount Bental, overlooking Syria and historic battlefields. Visit old IDF bunkers and take in sweeping views of the Golan Heights and southern Syria. Optionally, visit a local winery for a tasting and presentation on Israel’s growing wine culture. Or explore an olive press to see how oil production ties into biblical and modern life. Start the day at  Cana, the site of Jesus’ first public miracle of turning water into wine during a joyous village wedding feast.  Drive on to Nazareth, where Mary received Gabriel’s message and Jesus spent his youth, now a vibrant city of churches and markets. Explore the Basilica of the Annunciation, built above Mary’s home, with international mosaics honoring her from many nations. After a lunch break, climb to Mount Tabor, a scenic peak linked with the Transfiguration, offering panoramic views of the Jezreel Valley below. Conclude the day at Yardenit, where the Jordan River flows quietly, allowing peaceful reflection or baptism ceremonies in sacred waters. Overnight in Tiberias

Cross the Plains of Armageddon, long associated with final battles in biblical prophecy and deeply rooted in the Book of Revelation. At its end, explore Tel Megiddo, a layered archaeological mound with massive gates, ancient stables, and an underground water system from biblical times.
Heading towards Jerusalem, pause at Emmaus, the village where Jesus appeared to two disciples after his resurrection and shared a meal with them. Reaching the holy city, ascend the Mount of Olives, which holds prophetic significance and offers breathtaking views of the Temple Mount and Old City walls. At its foot, enter the Garden of Gethsemane and reflect beneath olive trees that may descend from those during Jesus’ night of sorrow and prayer. Conclude the day at the Room of the Last Supper, a Crusader-era upper room built atop the traditional site of Jesus’ final Passover meal. Overnight in Jerusalem.

Start the day at the Church of the Holy Sepulchre, site of Jesus’ crucifixion, burial, and resurrection according to longstanding Christian tradition. Next, walk the Via Dolorosa, the path of Jesus’ suffering, stopping at marked stations for prayer and reflection. Passing through the local markets, reach the Western Wall, a remnant of the Second Temple and sacred to Jewish prayer for generations.
In the adjacant Jewish Quarter explore the Herodian Quarter, possibly linked to Jesus’ trials before Jewish leaders. For lunch, head to the Mahane Yehuda Market, where modern Israeli life pulses with color, flavor, and culture. Conclude the day with a visit to the Israel Museum to view the Shrine of the Book and a scale model of ancient Jerusalem.

Begin your day at the Temple Mount, the site of the ancient Jewish Temples and central to Jesus’ visits to Jerusalem. Learn about the significance of this sacred platform and its role in both Old and New Testament history. Continue to the Southern Wall Archaeological Park, where pilgrims once ascended to the Temple, passing through preserved gates and mikvehs. Stand on the original steps where Jesus may have walked, and imagine the bustling Temple scene during major Jewish festivals. Continue to the City of David, where Jerusalem began, and possibly walk through Hezekiah's tunnel. Descend to the Pool of Siloam, a large scale ancient Jewish ritual bath, and where Jesus healed a blind man. After a lunch break visit the Garden Tomb, a peaceful site outside the Old City, considered by some as the location of Jesus’ crucifixion and resurrection. If time permits, end the day at Ein Karem, a serene village in the Judean hills, traditionally known as the birthplace of John the Baptist.

Begin at Qasr el-Yahud, the Baptism Site on the Jordan River where John baptized Jesus and others seeking repentance. Continue to Qumran Viewpoint, looking across to the caves where the famous 2,00 year-old Dead Sea Scrolls were hidden. Next, drive though Ein Gedi Nature Reserve, where David hid from Saul. Reaching Masada, ascend to its top by cable car, and tour Herod’s fortress, learning about the last stand of Jewish rebels. Finish the journey at a Dead Sea resort, where you can float in mineral-rich waters and enjoy spa-style relaxation.

Begin the day with a visit to Emmaus, where the risen Christ walked unrecognized with two disciples on the road. Next, travel to the "Philistine Street", an archaeological display in Kibbutz Revadim of Philistine Material culture. Continue to Tel Lachish, Judah’s second most important city after Jerusalem, famously besieged by the Assyrians in 701 BCE. See the remains of the city gates, palace fortress, and siege ramp used by Sennacherib’s army during his campaign.
Next, enjoy a leisurely lunch at a boutique winery nestled in the Judean foothills with sweeping vinaeyard views and fine local wines. Following lunch, walk in the Elah Valley, where David faced Goliath with only a sling and stones, trusting entirely in God’s strength. End the day at Tel Beth Shemesh, where the Ark of the Covenant returned from Philistine captivity, as told in 1 Samuel.
